Poetry is one of the things I enjoy reading again and again to squeeze every last drop of meaning.This however, sounds like things the girls who wore all black in high school wrote while getting stoned.
I certainly missed the point and it may be a great historical find. However, if I paid for it, it was a waste of money.

I've read many of Mr. Brooke's books but this is the first time I've read his poetry. I thoughly enjoyed his dark thoughts and feelings. Keep them coming.

A very well written set of more paranormal or schifi type short poems. Easy to read/follow, never a dull moment. No grammar errors, repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Great scenarios & groups of characters. Very easy for me to give the set of short poems 5 stars.

Poetry is like anthologies, some of the stories/poems you like, others you don't. I think poetry's even harder with the unlimited number of styles and personal tastes. So while I give the entire collection a three, it doesn't tell the whole story.
The collection contains 10 poems, dark and disturbing in their own way but not so dark I had to turn away which allowed me to see the beauty in the poems I liked. The words are descriptive conjuring images of witches and demons and the havoc they can impart on mere mortals. The ones I liked flowed well, easy to read both mentally and out loud and I imagine I'll read those over and over.
As expected, there were a couple I didn't understand or didn't like and one in particular I wasn't sure what the poet meant to convey. We also had a repeat of poem six as poem 10 with a small change. I expect there was a reason for this but I have yet to figure it out.
Overall, I enjoyed the collection and I'm very glad I had the opportunity to read some poetry again.

I missed the part where we are told that this is a book of verses directed to the devil by devil worshipers. I would not have gotten it if I did. Scary...
The poems in this book are very deep and dark. They lend themselves to an ancient time and thus the wording may not resonate with all who read it but it is well worth a go....you may be surprised.
This book is contemporary poems by Jerome Brooke. Some of the poems are a bit out there, but overall I liked it. As a Witch I look for things that I relate to in literature and poetry and I could relate to the poetry in this compilation.
